TONI AMENGUAL
ABA ART CONTEMPORANI has the pleasure of presenting the individual exhibition “PRISA MATA AMIGO” of photographer Toni Amengual (Palma de Mallorca, 1980). On the evening of PALMA PHOTO'08 we invite you to the fresh and dynamic first solo exhibition of a contemporary young talent. Toni Amengual’s photographs submerge us in the hurricane of the city, trapping us in a vibrant rhythm, our personal stories reflected on those anonymous faces, bodies and spaces: “Everything happens around me, I don’t think, I register only what my eyes see while I’m moving. I register the people in the streets of my invented city. A portrayal of the world in which I’m living. A world moving very fast, only one thing makes me different from the others: I am not walking in a hurry”.
Toni obtained a degree in Biology and studied his postgraduate in Photo journalism. He started his photography career in 2000 and received many of different awards and scholarships. He also investigated, cooperated and photographed subjects such as environmental and health issues in Guatemala, Cameroon, Finland, Tanzania and Dominican Republic. He now works as an independent photographer.
